VIDEO: Engineering in India

Engineering is one of the most popular fields in India but many of them do not choose it for themselves. In this video, I talk about Engineering in India along with some hard hitting truths about Indian country! Watch the video and let me know what you think!

The L word

Learning is about inspiration, not information!

You are never really “done” learning. Learning is a constant process that keeps your mind alive and functioning. It can be thought of as breathing for your brain, once you stop doing it, your brain becomes dead<so to speak!> Idle mind is a devils playground. And when you stop assimilating knowledge, your brain becomes idle and starts wandering off in unproductive directions with you having no control over them!

When you do not feed your mind important, informative, intellectual <and other words starting from i that’ll make you think I’m smart> things to think about, it’ll usually result in you pondering over problems and overthinking, which is not healthy for either you or your brain. Keep your mind busy enough so it does not have time to think and worry about all the things that do not exist. Overthinking causes you to worry about the most unlikely scenarios <Imagine some witty example of why overthinking is a mess!>

We can all agree that education system, which says it is teaching something to kids, is heavily flawed. A bunch of kids — each definitely unique in their own ways, with obviously different interests, and who will all take varied amounts of time to comprehend and learn something are taught the same thing over a same period of time and are tested on the basis of their understanding of that! In my opinion, these tests determine the ability of the teacher to convey the information more than the student’s intellectual ability. <Many Indians nodding furiously in approval>

Since the obvious choice of learning seems to be below par, what do we do? Well, the Internet is a wonderful place to turn to at this time. We are fortunate to be a part of a world where you can Google anything and information about it appears for free, at your convenience.

Think about it, Internet is like your portable library+personal advisor+intellectual partner in crime.

In a world where information is so easily and readily available, the irony is that not many access and make use of it. We instead use the Internet for social media stalking and validation purposes. There’s nothing wrong with that but I urge you to take one small break from that routine and to focus on learning something new. It is a very small change in your life that could lead to many good things.

ANNOUNCEMENT: NEW YouTube Channel!

Hey guys,

I am happy to tell you all that I have started a new Channel on YouTube to be able share my ideas better and in a better way and I hope you guys find it interesting, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a look at the channel and support it. Thank you in advance.

Here is my video, introducing myself and why I started YouTube:

Break free

There’s a tireless wave of really trying tasks,

we’re all merely stuck in an endless loop

that we created for ourselves.

Norms, we call them

stability, we tag them

easy, is what it is

and that’s why we are scared,

scared to break the loop.

For if you break it, you are free!

You can be you

even though you’ve forgotten what ‘you’ feels like.

You can be you, unfiltered

without generations of passed down prejudices.

You can be you, filled with grace

no judgements or adulterations.

You can be you, brimming with confidence

without the need of approval from others.

Looking back…

Looking back, I see

how much of my happiness I let others control

in constant need for validation and approval,

wanting to be liked and get along with everyone.

Made efforts that were never returned,

left… felt unloved.

Unwanted by some,

unseen by others.

I was invisible.

Looking back, I understand

it was my fault

to put myself in such a state

vulnerable, open, and unarmed.

I invited trouble

and trouble is what I got.

Looking back, I realise that I will never be that person

make those mistakes because

I have learned

I have grown

for the better,

for my own good.

What if the world comes to an end?

Then , we build it up again!

In the recent light of events, there seems to be a sense of fear and negativity among many of us. Some of us are expecting the worst to happen and we are terrified of it. We are creating instances in our heads that are noxious to our well-being. The media is portraying a very morbid picture of what the future holds and people are alarmed because of that. But the truth is, none of us know how the future will pan out and you cannot be afraid of it simply because of speculations.

There are terrible racist incidents happening in the US but linking every one of them to President-elect Trump is unjustified. These happened even before he was elected, racism was not born because of Donald Trump it was very much in existence before and it is important that you do not create more panic by linking each story incident to this and paint a ghastly picture!

If you cannot spread peace and love, do not speculate and spread bad news.

Talk more about the things you love and celebrate what you want to see more of.

Stop creating a villain out of Donald Trump before he has even had a chance to step into power. Sure, he has said terrible and horrifying things during his campaign but the truth is we really do not know what the future holds and postulating that the world is going to be a terrible place is unreasonable.

But of course, there is a possibility that bad things might happen but so long as we all stay together and promote love, bad things will go away. Stop turning against each other, not everyone that voted for Trump is a racist or sexist! Please acknowledge that and try to accept people’s choices. This is what democracy has to offer, accept it and try to promote love and support to everyone.

Minimalism

Does minimalism actually work?

Minimalism is the new fad in town. Everybody is actively talking about it and writing about why we should all live a minimal, clutter-free life. There are tons of posts out there outlining the advantages of minimalism!

But here’s the deal…

A world which is filled with so many visionaries and artists shouldn’t be told ‘how to live’ their lives.

We are all dreamers and we all want to do amazing things in life. We dream of a life we’ll be leading and all things in it; being told which is the ‘best’ practice seems childish. The lives we have imagined and designed for ourselves might not be minimal and that is okay!
You can live your life in whatever way that works for you. Experiment with different concepts and try different lifestyles; whatever you are comfortable with and enjoy living that way.

Do not let the Internet tell you there is a ‘best way’ to do life!

May be you are one of those people, for whom, minimalism actually does work! That’s good for you but don’t expect everyone to be the same. Some of us don’t have it all together like you but we’re happy and content with life. We don’t need a guide on how to be ourselves, so just let us be! Don’t get me wrong, I am not against Minimalism, I think the concept is great and I admire people who can make do with less than 100 things in their house but I’m just saying I’m not one of them. May be in the future I’ll experiment with minimalism and like it but for now, I like this messy, unorganized, cluttered lifestyle that I’m living.
